By switching from gas to induction cooking and installing a 6 Zone Induction Hob workstation, The Kitchen, Cafe and Tea Room, Minchinhampton, successfully upgraded their kitchen and overcame red tape involved in developing a listed building in a conservation area.

Diane and Werner Bunt, owners of The Kitchen, chose local induction catering equipment manufacturer Target Catering Equipment to design and build their new 6 Zone Induction Hob workstation.

As well as manufacturing the 6 Zone Induction Hob workstation, Target Catering Equipment also fabricated the new dishwashing station to fit exactly into the space available, and the new ventilation system.

By utilising the existing chimney flue Target Catering Equipment were able to provide a solution to the problem of a commercial kitchen ventilation system in a listed building.  By incorporating high pressure fans along with washable disposable grease filters and odour control filters the ventilation system successfully utilised the existing listed building construction.

The Kitchen has developed an enviable reputation for it's quality products and is currently shortlisted for Local Tea Shop of the Year in the 2011 Cotswold Life Food And Drink Awards.

With their new kitchen, Dianne and Werner are following the trend of adopting induction cooking to replace gas. This will not only save them money with energy costs but also time as cleaning the flat surface of the 6 Zone Induction Hob workstation is a dream.
