When the Royal Oak in Gretton, Gloucestershire closed it's doors, locals lost their popular village pub destination. But good news was around the corner as restauranteurs Matthew and Wendy Brown, who already run the popular Wesley House in Winchcombe and the successful outside catering business Wesley House Events, took over the lease and the pub and restaurant has now reopened in time for the Cheltenham Gold Cup festival.

After the complete internal refurbishment which included ripping out the old bars, this popular local hub has been brought back to life. The kitchen also needed to be refurbished and Matthew chose Target Catering Equipment to carry out the renovations. In order to keep costs to a minimum, the original kitchen ventilation system was able to be left in place and reused along with existing stainless steel tabling, gantry and shelving which were all modified at Target's Gloucester workshops in order to fit over the new Target hot cupboard and Gram fridges.

With limited electrical power available and in order to comply with gas safety regulations, if the old ventilation system was to remain, gas equipment narrow enough to fit under the existing canopy was required. UK manufactured, Lincat 600 series catering equipment proved to be the ideal solution for this small kitchen.

With a complete new premium dishwashing system designed and made by Target to fit exactly into the space available and a new streamlined glass washing area behind the bar which included a Target premium commercial dishwasher and glasswasher from DC Products, Executive Chef Alex Breech, Head Chef Rob Owen and Chef Lewis Dixon now have a new, workable kitchen and are ready for the off in Gretton.
