Inspirational Gloucestershire College lecturers and chefs, Shaun Nean and Gareth Crwys-Williams have been responsible for helping launch the careers of many students over the years.
They lead the way by attracting new young blood into this dynamic industry with their "Chefs On Tour" initiative. Visiting local schools, these two chefs engage with pupils and teachers alike to promote a career path from school, through college and into the food service and hospitality industry.

Target Catering Equipment, of Gloucester, are proud to sponsor this initative with the state of the art i-hob portable induction hobs and i-hob wok induction hobs, ideally suited to front of house and also used for the classroom demonstrations.
So impressed with the wok induction cookers, provided by Target for an outside cooking event at his local golf club, Shaun Naen convinced the Head of Department, Keyth Richardson to consider this energy efficient and safe technology to form the backbone of the College's new joint training facility with schools at the Gloucestershire Launchpad in Tewkesbury, delivering the latest 14/19 year old vocational training qualifications in hospitality.
As a result, the high tech induction equipment replaced traditional gas fired equipment as a last minute design change, saving the College thousands of pounds in energy running costs as well as installation costs, as no costly gas pipe work and control systems were required for the safe use of gas.
Students, using the latest induction equipment, are being taught traditional techniques using the equipment of the future, which they will hopefully introduce to enhance the kitchens of the future.
Target Catering Equipment and Gloucestershire College are now working together to produce their own unique apprenticeship scheme for engineers and designers of the future as well as chefs that use their equipment - a truly win-win situation.
